It is somewhat surprising that there is no eatery worth its name beside in designated hotels in the city. You might find ice-cream parlours, bakeries, sweetmeat shops but not restaurants. However, the outlets within the hotels are extremely popular with in the local clientele and food festivals are an order of the day.

Entertainment

Don't come looking for nightlife in Visakhapatnam what you might find though is almost 30 theaters screening local and Hindi films. The most popular these are Jagadamba, Chitralaya and Rajeshwari They are many clubs but most of which caters to defence officers. You have to member or guest of a member to get entrance.

Shopping

Shopping is not usually an important activity when in Visakhapatnam. However, you may like to check out a shopping centre like Jagadamba Centre for variety of object. Also worth mentioning are the customs Notified Shops such as 'Japan Gifts', 'Singapore Plaza' and 'Paris Corner'
